"Although brought up in
Sussex, I was born in the Brown
Bear, 20 Chapel Street, Devonport, in the room above the Bottle and Jug which
was situated above the Bear Pit.
My
family was strictly Naval and my early tuition very much based on the exploits
of the Elizabethan - Victorian explorers, so it was only natural that I should
enjoy producing the Devon map, especially the further history revealed in its
research.."
